FRIDAY, MAY 7

RELOCATION UPDATE As of Friday, everyone who contacted us had received a relocation offer from the Saints. The relocation offers and process have varied. Some reported relocation to the plaza. Others relocated within their old section, a few rows down. Many relocated to the terrace corner or endzone. Some were told they had to make immediate decisions. Others were given 24 hours. Some were told to pay for 1/2 of the invoice immediately, while others were told the deadline is May 14. Greg Bensel reported that 300 of the affected 330 account holders have made relocation decisions. The Saints say that affected account holders will remain at the top of the priority list for relocation, regardless of whether they have accepted a new seat. Most importantly, Michael Stanfield, Vice President of Ticket Sales, has offered to speak directly to anyone who is not satisfied with the relocation process. E-mail us (missing1200@gmail.com) and we'll pass on his contact information.

THANK YOU LETTER The Missing 1200 sent a thank you letter to Michael Stanfield on Friday, expressing gratitude for his office's efforts to relocate us. The letter was based on recent e-mail responses sent by affected season ticket holders. Read it here.

TRACK YOUR NEIGHBORS We have created a forum to help Missing 1200 members keep in touch with their old "neighbors" by tracking their new locations. Please post your relocation information at this forum. We have also maintained a database that tracks old and new seats. If you are looking for the new location of an old neighbor, e-mail us.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 5

RELOCATION UPDATE We continue to receive updates from Missing 1200 members about their relocation offers. Our goal is to track the relocation offers so we can be sure that everyone who lost a seat is back in the Dome in 2010. If you have not sent us your relocation information, please e-mail us (themissing1200@gmail.com).

A few observations on the relocation process (based on e-mails from Missing 1200 members):

  • Most seats in our previous price range are now taken. Some report no seats available in pairs in the Upper Terrace at the $400- $430 level.
  • If relocation offer is accepted, account holders have until May 14 to pay 1/2 of the invoice; the remaining 1/2 is due in mid-June (according to Derrick James, Box Office Manager).
  • Saints report that they will continue to assist anyone relocate who is not 100% satisfied with their new seats. Ongoing relocation keeps Missing 1200 at top of priority list, regardless of accepting the first relocation offer (according to Derrick James, Box Office Manager).
  • Some successfully relocated in proximity to "neighbors" from previous section by requesting the same new section or by asking ticket rep. to relocate them near a specific account holder.

MONDAY, MAY 3

URGENT! SAINTS RELOCATION OFFERS BEGIN! As of this afternoon, some members of The Missing 1200 began receiving relocation offers from the New Orleans Saints. The offers came via personal phone calls. Voice mails were left with other members.

This is what we know based on information from two of those phone calls (made to former residents of Section 641):

  • Ticket holders were offered multiple options (e.g. 1st offer was made at $820 per season ticket in Section 615, followed by $400 per season ticket in Section 649 when first offer was rejected.)
  • Ticket holders given 24-hours to respond (according to one ticket holder, he needed to leave a voice mail accepting/refusing offer by tomorrow)
  • Ticket holders uncertain on being relocated with "neighborhood" (no one was asked if there were other account holders they wanted to sit near, but one asked anyway and was told about two seats that could possibly be 'held' for someone from previous section)

The Missing 1200 will track the relocation process being used by the Saints and update everyone as we receive reports from ticket holders. WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Please e-mail us (themissing1200@gmail.com) after you receive a relocation offer with the following information:

  1. When and how was the contact made?
  2. What were you offered (location and price)?
  3. Were you successfully relocated

We'll continue to send e-mail, Facebook, and website updates as we have them.

MONDAY, APRIL 26

Ticket renewal invoices were due on Friday, April 23. We have asked Michael Stanfield, Vice President of Ticket Sales, to let us know the exact date that phone calls will be made with relocation offers. We'll post an update if he provides this information.

Update from the Saints Ticket Office. As you know, last week The Missing 1200 sent another letter to the New Orleans Saints regarding the relocation process. Mike Stanfield, Vice President of Ticket Sales, contacted us to give an update. Mike says that he remains very optimistic that all 300 accounts will be succesfully relocated. He also said that the ticket office has developed a "fool-proof plan" for contacting everyone regarding the relocation. Mike says that he and the entire ticket office staff has been working hard to make sure that our concens are addressed in the process. Details of the relocation process have not yet been given. The first deadline for season ticket renewals is tomorrow, Friday, April 23. It should take roughly two weeks for the club to locate and compile all unrenewed seats. Relocation should be set to begin in the second week of May. This latest communication with Mr. Stanfield was very positive and we remain confident that all of The Missing 1200 will be in the dome for 2010!

Update from Mike Stanfield, Vice President of Ticket Sales for the New Orleans Saints: Mike says that although he is extremely optimistic that every one of the missing 1200 will be relocated, he has to stop short of a guarantee. He also told The Missing 1200's Jeff Maumus that each of the account holders affected will receive personalized service during the relocation process which he feels will be ready to start the first week of May. Mike did not elaborate on how the process would work. Additionally, if anyone has been spoken to in a rude manner by a member of the Saints ticket office, he wants to be notified immediately. We will check in with Mike again next week.

If you lost your seat, please contact us at themissing1200@gmail.com so that you can stand up and be counted. For everyone else, your support can be a tremendous effort in our fight for fairness!

Who Are We?

The Missing 1200 is a collective of displaced New Orleans Saints season ticket holders that is working to ensure all 1,200 lost seats are relocated before the 2010 season.

Our goal is to document every Who Dat who lost a seat and request that the team:

1. Contact each affected season ticket holder in writing with information about which seats were displaced, why the team waited to call until season ticket renewal invoices were mailed, and the specific process for temporary and/or permanent relocation in 2010.

2. Guarantee that every eliminated seat will be either temporarily or permanently relocated in 2010, regardless of how many season tickets are not renewed.

3. Keep Upper Terrace “neighborhoods” intact by relocating fans in groupings from their displaced sections.

4. Publicly recognize that the organization values the spirited culture that fans bring to the upper rows of the affected Upper Terrace sections, a culture that contributes to the unique game day experience in the Superdome.

What happened?

After 40 years, the New Orleans Saints won the Superbowl! For all of us, it was one of the greatest events in our lifetime. On March 18, the Saints sent out season ticket renewals for the 2010 football season. 1200 season ticket holders on 300 season ticket accounts were not included. Some of these fans have been contacted, and some have not. The reason for the sudden loss was the decision to turn the Superdome's current press box into an additional 16 luxury boxes. The press box will be relocated to the upper portion of sections 636 - 644. The fans displaced by this renovation have been stripped of their Season Ticket Holder status and have been placed onto the Season Ticket waiting list which stands at over 60,000 strong.

Our Fight

A brand new Press Box will debut at the top of the Louisiana Superdome for the 2010 football season.  Until March 18, 2010, this is where some of the most devoted and passionate fans of the New Orleans Saints were found. We stand united to ensure that all 1200 ticket holders displaced by the construction are treated fairly by the Saints front office and offered seats for the 2010 season. Anything less is unacceptable.
